Sustainability

We believe in shaping a better tomorrow, firmly grounded in the belief that we are all in this together. Together, we are committed to making a positive impact on our community, creating a harmonious and uplifting environment for everyone.

At our core, we embrace and celebrate the beauty of inclusivity and diversity. We recognise and cherish the fact that each of us is unique, and that’s what makes us special. Let’s celebrate our differences together to foster a culture of unity and acceptance.

Our commitment to excellence extends to being a good neighbour. We love our local communities, the people, the businesses, the environment. We’re serious about making a positive impact and using our companies as a force for good.

Energy and greenhouse gas emissions

The Group’s diverse range of businesses has a strong reliance on the transport sector, a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. As one of Australia’s leading companies, we are responsible for reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and playing our part in tackling climate change. We recognise that by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, we can support our customers’ work towards their own emissions reduction targets.

Taking action on climate change

As part of our commitment, we are developing strategic blueprints to provide tangible guidance for decarbonisation and the promotion of renewable energy usage. To effectively reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions, we are actively developing key roadmaps through our Group Sustainability Advisory Committee.

Key outcomes to date include a national vehicle fleet emissions offset partnership with Greenfleet as well as in the introduction of Australia’s first zero-emissions electric removals truck. Work is also underway to retrofit all Group owned properties with solar powered electricity generation.

Diversity and inclusion

Our individual differences ignite ideas, forge connections, and unravel shared experiences. We actively develop inclusive leaders, support a gender balanced workforce with flexible working arrangements and promote engagement of all diverse groups. Our policies include championing LGBTQI inclusion in the workplace and beyond as well as recognition and enabling for employees with disability accessibility needs.

Embracing our uniqueness acts as a reminder that each customer, team member, and supplier we collaborate with possesses their own distinct qualities.

Indigenous participation and procurement

We are committed to creating greater opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, suppliers, customers, and people to actively participate in our businesses.

We include our Supply Nation procurement expenditure as a KPI for our businesses and assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers to participate in our supply chain.

We seek to progress sustainable relationships with Indigenous communities to increase our understanding, value and recognition of First Nations’ cultures, histories, knowledge and rights. This engagement extends to financial support and employee participation partnership with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
